In this blog post, we have yet more evidence of the opportunities that exist in the current marketplace, specifically the average starting salaries that are available within these select industries.

That evidence is courtesy of Top Echelon Network, an elite network of highly specialized search firms. Top Echelon compiles information and statistics on a quarterly and yearly basis, including information pertaining to the positions that its recruiters fill.

Three of the top industries within Top Echelon Network are Engineering, Manufacturing, and Information Technology. Top Echelon tracks the starting salary of each position that is placed by its Network recruiters. As a result, the Network has compiled the average starting salary for all positions of a certain type.

Let’s start with Engineering. According to Top Echelon, the average starting salary for all positions placed within Engineering in 2016 was $90,867.

But what about some of the specific areas within Engineering? Below are the average starting salaries associated with some of those positions:

  • Electrical Engineering—$97,000
  • Chemical Engineering—$95,420
  • Mechanical Engineering—$86,222
  • Machine Design/Automation Design—$81,333

Now let’s move on to the Manufacturing industry, shall we? According to Top Echelon, the average starting salary for all positions placed within Manufacturing in 2016 was $85,192.

In addition, below are the average starting salaries associated with some of the specific positions within Manufacturing:

  • Quality Control—$80,875
  • Manufacturing Engineer—$81,243
  • Product Engineer—$81,667
  • Process Engineer—$87,400

The third industry that we’ll examine is Information Technology. According to Top Echelon, the average starting salary for all positions placed within IT in 2016 was $93,319.42.

In addition, below are the average starting salaries associated with some of the specific positions within Information Technology:

  • Programmer/Analyst—$79,136
  • Systems Analyst/Project Management—$101,167
  • Network Administrator—$82,000
  • Data Processing—$88,030

As you can see, not only are there plenty of opportunities for talented individuals within Engineering, Manufacturing, and Engineering, but there are also enormous financial benefits associated with those opportunities.
